It begins in 1917, with them alternately challenging and accepting each other; while on a wildly careening path of violence and destruction. As the tumultuousness of their personalities ebb and flow, their relationship does with it, and there are transformations and acceptance encompassing many shades of grey. Running parallel to this is Katherine’s present day story, wherein she is held captive and tortured by Klaus.
